How to request Manual Email Setup

Manual Email Setup is a paid or included setup service that may be available when you need hands-on help with cPanel email mailbox setup or hosting-side email DNS configuration.

It is intended for customers who need help setting up email correctly, but it does not include email migration, device setup or third-party workspace administration unless separately agreed.

When Manual Email Setup may be useful

Manual Email Setup may be useful if you need help with:

• Creating cPanel email mailboxes

• Setting up mailbox details

• Confirming mailbox limits

• Checking email DNS records

• Updating MX records where appropriate

• Checking SPF, DKIM or DMARC records

• Confirming basic mailbox access details

• Setting up hosting-side email configuration

Manual Email Setup is usually most useful when your domain, hosting and email need to be connected correctly and you do not want to manage the technical setup yourself.

What Manual Email Setup may include

Depending on your service and what has been agreed, Manual Email Setup may include:

• Creating one or more cPanel email mailboxes

• Setting mailbox names based on your request

• Confirming mailbox access details

• Checking required email DNS records

• Helping configure hosting-side email settings

• Confirming whether the domain is using cPanel email or an external email provider

• Advising if extra email mailboxes may be needed

The exact setup depends on your hosting plan, domain setup, DNS provider and email requirements.

What Manual Email Setup does not include

Unless separately agreed in writing, Manual Email Setup does not include:

• Email migration

• Moving old inbox history

• Copying emails from another provider

• Inbox cleanup

• Device setup

• Outlook setup

• Apple Mail setup

• Gmail app setup

• Phone setup

• Google Workspace administration

• Microsoft 365 administration

• Third-party email platform administration

• Ongoing mailbox management

• Advanced deliverability consulting

If you need help outside the standard Manual Email Setup scope, WP Performance Hosting may advise whether a separate paid support task or quote is required.

Email migration is not included

Manual Email Setup does not include moving existing email history from another provider.

If you currently use another email service, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho Mail, your old hosting provider or another mail platform, do not cancel that service until you are sure you no longer need access to old email.

You are responsible for keeping access to previous mailboxes and old email history unless a separate migration service is agreed.

Before requesting Manual Email Setup

Before requesting Manual Email Setup, collect the following information:

• Your domain name

• The email addresses you want created

• Whether you already use email on the domain

• Where your domain DNS is managed

• Whether you use Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or another email provider

• Whether you want to use cPanel email going forward

• Whether you need Extra Email Mailboxes

• Any current email issues or error messages

This information helps WP Performance Hosting confirm the correct setup path.

How to request Manual Email Setup

If you are an existing customer, submit a support ticket through the client portal.

In your ticket, include:

• Your domain name

• The mailbox or mailboxes you want created

• Whether this is a new email setup or a change from an old provider

• Whether your domain DNS is managed by WP Performance Hosting or another provider

• Any email DNS records you have been asked to use

• Any existing email provider details that may affect setup

After setup is completed

After Manual Email Setup is completed, you may receive mailbox details or setup notes.

Keep those details secure.

You may still need to set up the mailbox in your preferred email app or device. Device and app setup is not included unless separately agreed.

If you are unsure whether the mailbox is working, check webmail first before setting up the mailbox in an external app.
