What happens after you order hosting

After you order hosting from WP Performance Hosting, your service will go through account setup, payment review, service provisioning and onboarding checks.

The exact process may vary depending on the hosting plan selected, domain choice, payment status, migration requirements and whether any manual setup work is needed.

Step 1: Your order is created

When you place an order, the order is recorded in the WP Performance Hosting client portal.

You may receive emails about:

  • Your order

  • Your invoice

  • Your payment

  • Your hosting service

  • Domain registration or domain setup, where applicable

  • Any required onboarding information

Keep these emails for reference.

Step 2: Your invoice must be paid

Most hosting services require payment before the service is activated.

After payment is received, your service can move to the next setup stage.

If payment fails, is incomplete or requires review, setup may be delayed until the issue is resolved.

Step 3: Your hosting service is provisioned

Once the order and payment are ready, your hosting service may be provisioned.

Provisioning means the hosting service is created and prepared for use.

Depending on the service, this may include:

  • Hosting account setup

  • Server or package assignment

  • Service details being added to your client account

  • Welcome email generation

  • Access details being provided where applicable

  • Basic hosting configuration

Some services may be provisioned automatically. Others may require manual review or setup before they are ready.

Step 4: You receive service details

After your hosting service is active, you may receive a welcome email or service email with important information.

This may include:

  • Hosting service details

  • Access information where applicable

  • Nameserver or DNS details

  • Client portal links

  • Support instructions

  • Setup or onboarding notes

Store these details safely.

Step 5: Domain setup is confirmed

Your website needs a domain name to work properly.

Depending on your order, you may be:

  • Registering a new domain

  • Using an existing domain

  • Transferring a domain

  • Updating nameservers

  • Updating DNS records

  • Connecting the domain to your hosting service

Domains can be registered during the order process where available, or managed through the client portal.

If you are using an existing domain, you may need to update nameservers or DNS records at your current registrar.

Step 6: DNS changes may take time

After nameserver or DNS changes are made, the changes may take time to update across the internet.

This is commonly called DNS propagation.

During this time, your website, email or domain may not appear the same for everyone immediately.

DNS timing depends on the domain, registrar, DNS provider, previous DNS settings and internet provider caching.

Step 7: Migration may require extra information

If you are moving an existing WordPress website or WooCommerce store to WP Performance Hosting, we may need additional information before migration can begin.

This may include:

  • Current website URL

  • WordPress admin access

  • Existing hosting access

  • cPanel or hosting control panel access, if available

  • Domain registrar or DNS access, if needed

  • Details about email currently connected to the domain

  • Any special plugins, forms, checkout features or integrations used by the site

Do not cancel your old hosting service until your migration has been completed, checked and confirmed.

Step 8: Email setup depends on your plan

Some hosting plans include cPanel email mailboxes based on the selected plan allowance.

Email setup may involve:

  • Creating cPanel email mailboxes

  • Setting mailbox passwords

  • Confirming email storage limits

  • Updating email DNS records

  • Checking MX, SPF, DKIM or DMARC records where needed

  • Adding Extra Email Mailboxes if your plan allows it and you need more mailboxes

Manual Email Setup may be required if hands-on mailbox or DNS setup work is needed.

Email migration, inbox cleanup, device setup and third-party workspace administration are not included unless separately agreed.

Step 9: Use the client portal for support

Existing customers should use the client portal for support requests.

Using the client portal keeps your request connected to your account, active services, invoices and support history.

What can delay hosting setup

Hosting setup may be delayed if:

  • Payment has not been completed

  • Required information has not been provided

  • Domain or DNS access is missing

  • Migration access is incomplete

  • The domain is still controlled by another provider

  • The order requires manual review

  • A third-party provider is causing delays

  • Email setup requires additional confirmation

  • The requested work is outside the included setup scope

Providing accurate details early helps avoid delays.

Need help?

If you are unsure what to do after ordering, log in to the client portal and open a support ticket.

Include:

  • Your domain name

  • The service you ordered

  • Whether you are using a new or existing domain

  • Whether you need migration help

  • Whether you need email mailboxes

  • Any setup questions you have

This helps WP Performance Hosting confirm the next step.
